DSP looking for armed robbery suspect in Newark
Newark-Troopers are investigating the armed robbery and assault of a 23 year old female employee that occurred at the Cash Advance in Newark.The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, as the male suspect entered the Cash Advance store located in the Harmony Plaza. The suspect vaulted the sales counter and confronted the 23 year old female employee, located behind the counter. The suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim and demanded money. The suspect struck the victim several times in the head with the handgun and continued to make demands. The victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect fled on foot through the rear of the business towards the Harbor Club and Chasemont Apartment complexes. The victim suffered minor injuries to her head as a result of the assault.
