He told authorities he took the money to make up gambling losses and has since enrolled in Gamblers Anonymous.
Door County Circuit Judge Peter Diltz noted that the agent who prepared a presentence report recommended that Brunswick be placed on probation for a sufficient period of time to allow you to pay restitution.
In addition to the jail term and probation, Diltz ordered Brunswick to pay $19.580 in restitution plus a 10 percent surcharge to the state of Wisconsin, along with court costs.
Defense attorney Carrie LaPlant noted that beginning two days after the initial false robbery report, Brunswick has taken responsibility for his actions and cooperated with prosecutors and police.
For his part, Brunswick said he apologized to the company, his family and to the police who wasted their time, adding that he is embarrassed and ashamed by his actions.
